Why Tiny Homes Are So freaking Cool
Have you ever had the feeling when you knew that was something was exactly as it should be? You’ve been pondering solutions to a problem that you’ve been facing and out of the blue, the answer hits you square in the face.
This was my experience when I first watched the documentary Tiny in 2014. At that time I had just finished an adventure that led me through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia on my bicycle.
I longed for a place that I could call my own. A place where I could plant my roots and be a part of a community instead of living somewhere for a few months and then moving on.
When I watched that documentary, my yearning transformed from a feeling, to taking form as a tiny home on wheels. This is a small home that is built on a flatbed trailer that resembles a R.V. but looks more like a regular home. Finding this answer to my desires was truly a pivotal moment, and would change much of what was to come in my life.
Not only could I build myself a home with my own bare hands, but I could do it debt-free.
I didn’t want the financial burden of a huge mortgage that I had to pay off. I didn’t want to be shackled to a job I didn’t love so I could make the monthly payments.
At that point in my life, a tiny home on wheels made perfect sense to me and it might for you.
I wrote the Tiny House Blueprint and put together this guide so that you can make an educated decision on whether or not this housing modality is right for you.
If you do decide that it is right for you, I’ve detailed all of the construction steps, provided my materials and price list and included over 300 photos.
I’ve gone over all of the things that I’m glad I’ve done with our tiny house and the things I wish I did. You’re getting a much more in-depth story of how our little 200 sq ft home came to fruition that you can’t see on YouTube.
If you’ve had any interest in tiny homes, whether you want to build one yourself, have a company build for you or you’re just curious, then the Tiny House Blueprint is going to be a tremendous asset for you.
